Early Years celebrate Chinese New Year

The children in Early Years had a special day last Friday when they came to school dressed in red; the colour of good luck in China. Throughout the day, the children danced and paraded throughout the school following the fantastic dragon the children had made.
They listened and played along to Chinese music as well as learn the phrase for Happy New Year in Chinese.
The day ended with a Chinese banquet in which the children tasted noodles, egg fried rice, stir fried vegetables and prawn crackers with a variety of dips. Each child went home with a fortune cookie and the nursery children had an extra special treat of a red envelope.
